A St. Johnsbury Academy student won this year’s "Poetry Out Loud" competition administered by the Vermont Arts Council.
Christian DeKett is a junior from Wheelock. He clinched it with his delivery of "Experience," by Ralph Waldo Emerson, a poem about the relationship between man and nature.
Four-thousand students participated in the contest this year, and DeKett was chosen from 37 finalists. He will advance to the National Finals in Washington, D. C., at the end of April
