The historic Saint Johnsbury Athenaeum will reopen early next year after months of renovation.
Administrative officer Lorna Higgs says the library and art gallery will be both modernized and restored to its 1871 condition.
Higgs says staff should be closing the current temporary library on Summer Street the day before Christmas.
The books and computers will then be taken back to the Athenaeum on Main Street in time for its reopening on January 26th.
The Athenaeum will hold an open house for the first two weeks.
