Spring Is Wettest Ever

The National Weather Service says that Vermont has recorded its wettest spring ever.

As of 5:00 this afternoon, 15.62 inches of rain had fallen in Burlington since March 1st.

That’s a little more than the March through May record of 15.46 inches that fell in 1983. And there’s more rain on the way.

Weather Service officials say the saturated soil means any additional rainfall goes directly into the runoff and into the Champlain Valley basin.
