Shap Smith was re-elected as Speaker of the House. Among his priorities for the new biennium are creating a sound health care structure, working towards energy independence, reducing energy consumption in state buildings and ensuring Vermont’s education system is competitive nationally and globally.
Smith set a goal to move legislation with strong tri-partisan votes in the House. He hopes to accomplish this through creativity, innovation and hard work.
