South Burlington Teachers Plan Strike Vote

Teachers in South Burlington are planning a strike vote unless the school board is willing to negotiate a settlement.

After working without a contract for eight months, teachers in South Burlington set a March 2 deadline Thursday.

Richard Wise, co-president of the South Burlington Educators’ Association, says one of the sticking points is a provision that would allow the board to impose working conditions and not honor negotiated salary schedules.

Meanwhile, teachers in Addison Northeast Supervisory Union will be striking this Wednesday if they can’t reach a contract settlement with the school boards.
