South Burlington Teachers Approve Contract

Both teachers and school board members in South Burlington are praising a three-year contract that helped avert a teachers’ strike.

Yesterday, teachers overwhelmingly approved a contract agreement in a meeting earlier this week. The teachers had been scheduled to go on strike.

The school board will vote on the contract next week.

The proposed contract maintains automatic cost of living increases for teachers even after a labor agreement has expired. That detail had been a critical sticking point in the previous negotiations.
