Every winter for 74 years, farmers in Vermont have gathered to swap stories, show off their products and ‘kick the tires’ – literally – on new equipment.

The year’s Farm Show opened Tuesday in Barre.

VPR’s John Dillon listened in, and brought back this audio postcard-beginning with the sound of a bandsaw that makes lumber out of saw logs.

We’ll hear from Jericho farmer Dean Davis, Walter Harrington of the Vermont Bird Fanciers’ Club, and Ruth Goodrich of Goodrich’s Maple Farm in Cabot.
