The snowstorm whacking the state today could go down as one of the 10 biggest storms in Vermont history.

John Goff of the National Weather Service office in Burlington says more than two feet of snow could fall before the storm winds down overnight tonight.

Roads across Vermont are covered with snow, schools are closed and activities canceled.

Vermont Transportation Agency Dispatcher Larry Dodge says the snow is falling, but there isn’t much traffic.

Overnight, the National Weather Service posted a blizzard warning for all of Vermont, much of northeastern New York and most of New Hampshire. Forecasters are predicting more than two feet of snow by tomorrow morning.
