(Host) Governor Jim Douglas has named an Underhill woman to lead the state’s new Department of Information and Innovation. Robin Siss came to state government from IDX, a medical software company based in South Burlington.

She says her job will be to oversee the state’s computers systems, and to make it easier for Vermonters to use information technology.

(Siss) “It’s all about computers. It’s all about information technology, and improving our core systems, and looking for better ways to deliver services and opportunities to our resident members of the state of Vermont, and developing partnerships with our corporate partners.”

(Dillon) The Legislature last winter created the new Department of Information and Innovation. The department will initially have about 50 employees. Most of them now work for existing state agencies.
