A shooting range in Richmond that has operated for at least 80 years is now causing a stir among neighbors. Neighbors say the shooting is louder and more persistent than it used to be.

The range’s gun club refurbished its shooting stations and expanded the parking lot last year without seeking a zoning permit. The head of the Richmond Zoning Board approved the work after it was completed. Neighbors have appealed to the Richmond Development Review Board, which is now considering the matter.
