Shelburne Museum is getting a boost from a fund set up to help museums through the economic downturn, as well as a smaller grant to install some new touch-screen technology.

The Henry Luce Foundation made a $93,000 grant to the museum as part of its American Art Renewal Fund. The fund was created to respond to the economic downturn and what the foundation says is the current need to strengthen American art activities at the nation’s museums.

Meanwhile, the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership is providing a grant of roughly $3,300 for touch-screen oral history listening stations on the museum’s National Historic Landmark steamboat Ticonderoga.
