Shay Totten, the former editor of the Vermont Guardian, will become the next political columnist for Seven Days, an alternative weekly newspaper.
Totten replaces Peter Freyne, who retired his "Inside Track” column last month.
Totten’s column will start May 7.
The political analyst and award-winning journalist served as editor of the former Vermont Times and later for the Vermont Guardian, before it folded last year.
Most recently the 39-year-old has been editorial director of Chelsea Green Publishing in White River Junction. He also writes a monthly column for Vermont Public Television’s "Vermont This Week” program called "Shay’s Lounge.”
