Vermont State Police are investigating a rash of burglaries from locked fishing shanties set up on Lake Champlain. Police say locks had been pried open on numerous shanties in the Fort Cassin area just north of Basin Harbor in Ferrisburgh.
The thefts are believed to have taken place Monday night. Anyone whose shanty has been damaged or has property missing is asked to call the state police in Middlebury. Anyone with information about the burglaries is also asked to call police at (802) 388-4919.
