Tomorrow is the opening of the legislative session in Montpelier. As lobbyists, staff and legislators come pouring into town, somebody has to be responsible for making sure the building itself is ready for the work of the legislative season.

Francis Brooks is the Sergeant at Arms, and it’s his job to take care of all those little details. He spoke with Vermont Edition about the challenges of the job and what it takes to keep the statehouse running smoothly
