Vermont lawmakers have signed off on a $536 million transportation bill that includes money for interstate road paving, the state’s contribution to a new Lake Champlain Bridge and money for deteriorating bridges.
The state Senate gave final approval to the spending plan Wednesday.
It includes:
– $106 million for bridge work, with major construction on 65 spans.
– $77 million for paving projects, including 100 miles’ worth of Interstate 89 and Interstate 91 and 135 miles of state highways.
– $59 million in roadway improvements, including money for the Bennington Bypass, improvements to Route 7 in Pittsford and Brandon and work on Route 2 in Cabot and Danville.
– $15.5 million for the Lake Champlain Bridge, linking Crown Point, N.Y., and West Addison.
