Voters in the town of Northfield will try again to pass a school budget Tuesday after it was rejected on Town Meeting.

The $10 million budget is about $140,000 less than one defeated by voters March 3. Among the items being cut: a middle school alternative education program, an English teacher’s position and a music program called "The Strings Program" that has about 50 students.

The music program students planned to demonstrate their skills at an informational meeting on the budget planned for tonight.

The school district includes the Northfield elementary, middle and high schools.
