The Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester is a feast for arts lovers.
The campus includes several art galleries, an education center with studios for classes and workshops, and a 400-seat auditorium.
But visitors to the Center can also explore an outdoor sculpture park.
The mile-long drive to the main campus features a number of contemporary sculptures, which loom against a natural backdrop of meadow and forest. Plowed paths invite exploration.
A large-scale steel cheetah designed by Vermont Artist Wendy Klemperer stalks one meadow.
You can walk amongst a colossal collection of ball and jacks by David Tanych.
And the center has just installed a new 30-foot sculpture called "The Muse" , by Jack Howard Potter.
VPR’s Neal Charnoff recently traveled to the SVAC sculpture park to speak with Gallery Director Chester Kasnowski.
