School test scores linked to parents’ involvement

Scores on state and national education tests have improved in Vermont, according to the latest results released Thursday. Education Commissioner Ray McNulty noted a correlation between students’ performance and parents’ participation in their education.

McNulty and Governor Howard Dean said Thursday the state needs to do more to encourage parents to participate in high school functions.
