A Mount Mansfield Union High School bus driver charged with driving the hockey team while under the influence of alcohol has 11 criminal convictions.

The Burlington Free Press says the convictions against 30-year-old Shane McBrayer of Waterbury include a 2003 DUI conviction in the state of Georgia.

McBrayer appeared in court Wednesday in White River Junction where he pleaded not guilty to charges he was driving under the influence on Saturday on the way back to Jericho after a hockey game.

Police say his blood alcohol content was point-1-3 percent. The legal limit for a school bus driver is point-zero-two percent.

School co-superintendent Jim Massingham says he didn’t know the extent of McBrayer’s criminal record.

McBrayer remains jailed on probation violation charges.
