There will be a rally on the Brattleboro Town Common tomorrow at noon to protest the continued operation of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Plant.
The plant’s license expired in March, but it has been granted federal approval to operate for another 20 years.
The rally has been organized by a coalition of groups opposed to Yankee remaining on line, including the New England Coalition on Nuclear Pollution, the Sierra Club, and the Vermont Public Interest Research Group.
Speakers will include Governor Peter Shumlin, Senator Bernie Sanders and Attorney General Bill Sorrell.
