Senator Bernie Sanders says Congress is about to pass legislation that could provide a record level of funding for veterans.

Earlier this month the Senate passed a $3.6 (b) billion dollar increase to the Veterans Administration budget over last year, which is the largest increase in VA’s history.

The House has passed similar legislation and Sanders expects the president to sign a compromise bill.

The funding will allow the VA to hire more staff to provide faster benefits, expanded treatment of post traumatic stress disorder and brain injuries, and increase coverage for all veterans.
