Vermont state Auditor Tom Salmon says he will plead guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol after being cited for DUI on Nov 13 in Montpelier.

Salmon is scheduled to be arraigned on today in Vermont District Court.

Prosecutors told the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus that Salmon will be eligible for a standard plea deal that would be offered to anyone else who is charged with an uncomplicated DUI.

As part of the agreement, Salmon would receive a fine in exchange for pleading guilty.

He also would face civil penalties, including having his license suspended.
