A 51-year-old IBM warehouse manager from Saint Albans has won a Tri-State Megabucks jackpot worth $4.75 million.
Gilbert Lussier traveled to Vermont Lottery headquarters in Berlin with his wife, sister and sister-in-law to claim his jackpot.
Lussier bought a ticket for last Friday’s jackpot but didn’t claim his prize until he had conferred with a lawyer and financial planner.
He says he plans to retire from IBM in a couple of weeks and use the money to help support his ailing mother and to help family and friends.
He hasn’t decided whether he’ll take the money all at once in a payment of almost two-and-three-quarter million dollars or in equal payments spread out over 25 years.
