Green Mountain Power is holding a commissioning ceremony to start up a new solar park in Rutland.

The utility broke ground on a 150-kilowatt solar installation on the lot earlier this year as it strives to put Rutland on the map as the "solar capital" of Vermont.

The Rutland Herald reports city officials, contractors and students who worked on the project are holding a formal opening at 11 a.m. Monday.

The project is expected to bring in up to $100,000 in tax revenue for the city.
