For months Rutland has been following the case of a city police officer in what was thought to be a case of child pornography.

Sergeant David Schauwecker was in court today and he pleaded not guilty to two charges, but neither is directly related to pornography.

He’s accused of providing false information to state police and neglect of his duty as a Rutland officer.

VPR’s Nina Keck was at District Court earlier today for the arraignment. She speaks with VPR’s Neal Charnoff about the case.
