A financially troubled movie theater in Rutland has been granted a reprieve.

A judge will hold off on eviction proceedings which will allow the Plaza Movieplex 9 to stay open for at least another year.

That’s as long as its owners don’t miss any payments.

The new lease agreement was sought by the theater’s owners and its landlords.

The theater in the Rutland Shopping Plaza owes $212,568 in back rent. Its current lease expires in 2010.
