A public discussion will be held in Rutland today on synthetic drugs.

This comes after a teenager was killed this fall in a crash allegedly caused by a man huffing chemicals.

The discussion will focus on synthetic drugs include bath salts and the practice of huffing to get high.

The police chief in Rutland says the death of the teenager has the city searching for answers to the broader problem of drug and chemical abuse.

The Rutland Herald reports today’s discussion at 6 p.m. at the PEG-TV studio is open to the public.
