Senator Patrick Leahy and Congressman Peter Welch have secured $925,000 in federal funding for the Rutland Regional Airport.

The money will help pay for an Instrument Landing System, which Leahy says will allow planes to use the airport even during bad weather.

(Leahy) "The chamber of commerce tells us it will be a tremendous boost for tourism in the Rutland area."

(Host) Cape Air is an independent airline that has partnered with JetBlue Airways. Cape Air is expected to schedule more flights because of the improvements.
