A novelist catches up with his future.  A president is under house arrest after setting off a nuclear war.  A single mother protects her disabled son.

These are just some of the stories in a new collection of original works by Russian writers called "Life Stories."

The book has been published in the U.S. by Russian Information Services, which is based in Montpelier. RIS also publishes the bi-monthly magazine, "Russian Life".

All proceeds from "Life Stories" will benefit Russian hospice care.

VPR’s Neal Charnoff speaks with Paul Richardson, the president of RIS.
