Roads across Vermont are covered with snow, schools are closed, activities canceled and people are waking up today to what could become known as the blizzard of ’07.

State and local road crews are fanned out across the state working to keep the highways clear, but the peak of the storm isn’t expected until some time later today.

Vermont Transportation Agency Dispatcher Larry Dodge says conditions aren’t too bad yet.

Dodge says the snow is falling, but there isn’t much traffic.

Overnight, the National Weather Service posted a blizzard warning for all of Vermont, much of northeastern New York and most of New Hampshire. Forecasters are predicting more than two feet of snow by tomorrow morning.
