(Host) The chairman of the Richmond selectboard says a "boil water" order has been issued for the 400 customers on the village water system.
Erik Filkorn says that, overnight, something failed in the pump house that sends water to the town’s storage tank. So the town has hired contractors to truck water to the storage tank, but it won’t be enough to keep the system operating at full capacity.
Filkorn says he doesn’t know if the failure was due to the winter storm hitting the region.
There’s no word on how long it will take to fix the problem.
