Reward Offered For Tips In Hardwick Bank Robbery

Bank officials are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man who robbed a bank in Hardwick in September.

Police say the Union Bank was robbed on Sept. 6. by a man wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses who handed a teller a note claiming he had a gun. No gun was used and no one was hurt.

Police used search dogs to try to track the robber, who fled on foot.

The local high school and elementary school were temporarily locked down.

No arrests have been made.

The Vermont State Police and Hardwick Police Department are encouraging community members to come forward with any information about the crime.
