The newly-appointed chairman of the Republican National Committee is coming to Vermont, and he won’t get a warm welcome from everyone.

Reince Priebus will speak to the Vermont GOP’s annual spring dinner tomorrow night in Burlington.

Priebus, a former chairman of the Wisconsin GOP, is described by the Vermont State Employees Association as the architect of policies that have led to fights over collective bargaining rights in that state.

Representatives of the state employees union, joined by those representing union teachers, Teamsters, bus drivers and the building trades plan to march through downtown Burlington and protest prior to the dinner.

State GOP Chairwoman Patricia McDonald says about 200 people will be on hand for the $100-dollar-per-person event at the Hilton hotel.
