Regulators approve utility rate hike

(Host) State utility regulators have approved a rate hike of just over 4% for Vermont’s largest electric utility.

The Public Service Board granted the rate increase for Central Vermont Public Service Corporation

CVPS says the average customer’s bill will rise about $2.75 cents a month.

But even with the increase, CVPS says its rates remain among the lowest in New England due to cost controls and stable long-term power contracts.
