Blood supplies across northern New England are precariously low, and the Red Cross hopes for more donors before the Labor Day Weekend.
Susan Parmer, the organization’s CEO for northern New England, says the Labor Day holiday is a great concern. It comes at the end of the summer, when blood supplies typically dwindle because of vacations, travel, school closings and other activities.
She said the Red Cross has a one-day supply of type O blood, and a two-day supply of all other blood types.
