Republican U.S. House candidate Martha Rainville says the nation needs to promote energy conservation as well as local energy projects such as home wind generators and solar panels.

Rainville announced her energy plan today during an appearance at a Colchester park and ride.

She says her plan will help protect national security, save money and protect the environment.

In addition to increased conservation and home energy production, Rainville wants to increase supplies of alternative fuels and increase domestic offshore oil and gas production.

She also wants to promote the study of math, science and engineering and create an agency dedicated to finding a way to end worldwide dependence on fossil fuels.
