Law professor and historian Annette Gordon-Reed has written extensively about the intimate relationship between Thomas Jefferson and one of his slaves, Sally Hemings.
Gordon-Reed’s most recent book, "The Hemingses of Monticello" won a National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize.
Her biography of President Andrew Johnson is due out this fall.
