Public Hearing Set On VT Budget

Vermonters will have a chance to speak out this week on late-session changes to the state budget.

Lawmakers last week unveiled a series of budget reductions called for under a special budget process called "Challenges for Change," and they’re already coming under fire from a range of advocates.

The aim of the package was to achieve $38 million in savings to help close the $150 million budget gap the state faced at the beginning of this year.

A public hearing on the cuts is set for the House chamber in the Statehouse tomorrow afternoon at 5.
