Prosecutors Rule Out Criminal Charges In Stun Gun Death

Attorney General Bill Sorrell says no criminal charges will be filed against a trooper involved in a fatal stun gun incident.

Macadam Mason of Thetford died after Trooper David Shaffer discharged his stun gun during an incident in June.

An autopsy in New Hampshire determined that the cause of death was a heart attack from the gun’s electrical charge.

Troopers say that Mason was approaching Shaffer and ignoring orders to stop before the stun gun was deployed.

The attorney general’s office and the Orange County state’s attorney’s office investigated and concluded that the use of force was justified.

A report on their investigation was released on Friday.
