Immigration reform is clearly on the agenda in Washington. The President spoke about it in his Inaugural Address, and a piece of legislation drafted by the executive office was leaked to the press this weekend. A bipartisan group of eight senators have also released their own plan.

Changing immigration rules will have a massive impact on every state.

Burlington attorney Leslie Holman is president-elect of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, which supports the principles put forth recently by the group of senators. She spoke with Vermont Edition about the plan that would automatically legalize some 11 million undocumented immigrants, providing they pay a fine and back taxes.
