Vermont’s mental health system is undergoing major changes, and recent news stories about violence and mental health have focused attention on how we treat people with the most serious mental health problems.

Jack McCullough leads the Mental Health Law Project. He spoke with Vermont Edition about how the project provides specialized assistance to people in involuntary mental health proceedings at Vermont’s six psychiatric hospitals, and for people living in the community who have become subject to the involuntary mental health system.
