Progressive grade Legislature’s accomplishments

Three of the four Progressives in the Vermont House say progress was made in this year’s legislative session on their issues, but much remains to be done. Representatives Steve Hingtgen, Bob Kiss and David Zuckerman, all of Burlington, hailed the passage of a medical marijuana bill and a measure to crack down on harassment and bullying in Vermont schools. Hingtgen also said Thursday he was glad he was able to cast the deciding vote in the House Education Committee to keep a school choice bill from coming to the House floor.

The progressives say the Legislature failed to address what they called one of the most important issue facing Vermonters – affordable and accessible health insurance.
