President Obama greeted 4,500 adoring supporters today during a campaign appearance at the University of Vermont.
The president came to Vermont for a pair of fund-raisers that are expected to produce $750,000 for his campaign.
And he also delivered a spirited defense of his administration against Republican critics.
(Obama) "Here’s what I want to report: That in three years, because of what so many of you did in 2008, we’ve begun to see what change looks like. We’ve begun to see what change looks like." Cheer fades.
The president went through a laundry list of what he says his administration has accomplished.
He focused in particular on the economy, which he says is recovering from the worst economic crisis in generations.
But critics say there are still too many Americans without a job. Vermont Republican Party
Chairman Jack Lindley says the president will have a difficult time defending his record this fall.
