Vermont’s largest power company is continuing to make progress in getting the power back on after the ice storm that hit the southern part of the state last week.

The Central Vermont Public Service Corp. and Green Mountain Power have about 750 customers without power, all but a handful in Windham County.

CVPS says repair crews had to deal with some new outages caused by the latest snowstorm, but about 140 crews are spread out trying to reconnect all their customers.

At its peak about 43,000 Vermont customers lost power.

CVPS says it expects most of those remaining without power will have it back by Thursday, while a few single-customer outages will continue into Friday or Saturday.
