Power losses due to storm are low

(Host) Thanks to the lightness of the snow, a relatively small number of Vermonters lost power.

At Central Vermont Public Service in Rutland, Christine Rivers says the largest outage occurred when several plow trucks struck some utility poles:

(Rivers) “We had all of our crews, line entry crews available and ready to go throughout the state yesterday. And we had people on call all throughout the night to work on small scattered outages. Two of our worst outages yesterday were actually accidents involving plow trucks. That wasn’t more than 30 customers at a time and what small outages we did have we were able to get to them fairly quickly. The state did a really great job of clearing the roads.”

(Host) CVPS is keeping crews available in the event that high winds do bring some power lines down.
