The Essex Police chief says the bank accounts of a couple missing almost a week have gone unused and investigators are still asking for help from the public in finding them.

Chief Brad LaRose says the mobile phones registered to William and Lorraine Currier have also gone unused.

Police began searching for the Curriers last Thursday after they didn’t show up for their jobs.

On Monday, about three dozen officers, some with search dogs, combed a section of the town near the Curriers’ home looking for clues.

Forty-nine-year-old William Currier works for the University of Vermont. Fifty-five-year-old Lorraine Currier works for Fletcher Allen Health Care.

LaRose tells the Burlington Free Press his department is being helped by officers from a number of agencies.
