Police in Milton are expected today to release more details into Friday’s hunting accident death in Milton. But one detail is known: 43-year-old David Jenkins was wearing camouflage clothing and not blaze orange when he was shot.

Hunter safety experts say hunters who want to be safe wear blaze orange clothing when they’re in the woods so they’re not confused for prey by other hunters.

Friends of Jenkins, a lifelong Milton resident, say he was a careful hunter who told companions to be sure of what they were shooting at.

But he also declined to wear blaze orange in the woods, saying he didn’t want to scare deer off.
