Officials say criminal charges will be filed against at least some of the participants in a Saturday night disturbance at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility in Rutland.

Corrections Commissioner Rob Hofmann says officials are planning to tally the damage to the jail to things like television sets, tables, and sprinkler heads today. Damage is expected to be in the thousands of dollars.

Hofmann says three or four of the ringleaders from the three-hour incident were transferred to other facilities.

One of two inmates injured in the disturbance was assaulted by other inmates. A second injured inmate was one of the participants.

Hofmann says the incident ended after an emergency team cleared the unit.
