Police probe church shootings

Police and federal law enforcement agents are investigating shootings at two Lyndonville churches over the weekend.

Police say the Church of Latter Day Saints on U.S. Route 5 and the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on South Wheelock Road both had windows shot out with a shotgun.

Police say road flares were then thrown into the buildings in apparent attempts to set them on fire. No one was hurt.

The shootings follow two shootings in St. Johnsbury earlier this month and a string of shootings in Orleans County in November and December. Police don’t know if they’re all related.
