Police in Burlington have arrested a 33-year-old Massachusetts man in connection with a fire that destroyed a 130-year-old barn at the Intervale Center.
Police charged Edward T. Westley with setting the fire, which is estimated to have caused more than $100,000 worth of damage.
Firefighters could not save the barn, and the blaze spread for a time to nearby woods before it could be extinguished.
Police say they were led to Westley by his vehicle, which was left at the scene.
Sunday’s fire was discovered when police responded to a burglar alarm at the Intervale Center.
